Ms Karin Lakshmi Günthör is a highly trained Ayurvedic practitioner whose clinical work is grounded in both traditional Ayurvedic medicine and contemporary healthcare practice. She completed her Bachelor of Ayurveda through Manipal University, graduating with First Class Honours, a significant academic achievement reflecting her commitment to excellence and depth of study in classical Ayurveda. Following her degree, Karin undertook her clinical practicum at Alva’s College, Moodbidri, Karnataka, under the close supervision and mentorship of Dr Aithal, who continues to be an important influence in her professional development. This immersive training provided Karin with a strong foundation in Ayurvedic diagnostics, treatment planning, and clinical application. With a background as a clinical nurse, Karin brings a comprehensive understanding of patient care to her Ayurvedic practice, having previously worked in emergency care, high-dependency units, travel health, aviation medicine, and communicable disease prevention. Her international experience spans Africa, the U.K., India, and Nepal. Karin travels regularly to India for ongoing professional development and Ayurvedic conferences and has studied with leading Ayurvedic teachers, and stayed in Gurukulam with Dr L. Mahadevan. She is the Founder and Director of the Lakshmi Ayurveda Academy where she leads the Panchakarma programs and training courses. She has completed her Cerificare IV in Training and Assessment. She has developed an international certified Ayurvedic Consultant course and offers Ayurvedic therapist training at the Lakshmi Ayurveda Academy. She is a professional member of the Australasian Association of Ayurveda AAA and ANTA.
