Dr. V. L. Shyam brings twenty years of international Ayurveda experience spanning 20 countries and has successfully implemented over 60 Ayurveda and wellness projects globally. As a dedicated Gulf News columnist for 15 years, he has authored over 1,000 articles on Ayurveda and wellbeing. He holds an M.D. in Salyathantra from Kerala University (2000), MPhil in Business Management from BITS Pilani (2005), and was Gold Medalist for BAMS from Mahatma Gandhi University (1996). A pioneering figure in UAE healthcare, he became the first Ayurveda practitioner licensed by the UAE Ministry of Health in 2002 and holds licenses with DHA, DHCC, and DOH. His contributions have been recognized with the UAE Ministry of Health Award (2019), Health Excellence Awards for Distinguished Leader (2018) and Distinguished Physician (2017), and Spa Person of the Year (2007). He served as member of WHO’s International Expert Consultation Meeting on benchmark documents for Ayurveda practice (2019) and General Secretary of the International AYUSH Conference Dubai (2017).
